Insufficient Tools (series) illustrates a recurring and underlying fear of my abilities (or lack thereof) as a father. While this is most likely a common fear to many parents, I sought to tap into that concept for much of my student work.

"Alone" The framing of my daughter, and the decision to use black and white help to communicate the feeling that she is alone, unattended & helpless. Clearly, I'm taking the photo, and her mother was just out of frame.

"Watching" I wanted to express the detached feeling I had as a new father. The rigid structure of the house juxtaposes against the warm, organic scene in the window of my mother and my daughter.
